ADOPT

Thematic Network on ADvanced Options for Partioning and Transmuatation

ADOPT Network is intended to coordinate the R&D activities sponsored by FP5 and the national activities in the fields of ADS development and Partitioning and transmutation (P&T).

Objectives

• In Europe there is a strong interest to explore the potential scientific, technical and industrial possibilities of P&T.

• Integrating the total European efforts as efficiently as possible would be very beneficial and would speed up the development and put the European R&D at lead in this field.

• The specific objectives of ADOPT are:
  • to promote consistency between P&T FP5 projects and nat. prog.
  • to define rules for info. dissemination and access to national R&D programme data
  • to review results of the P&T FP5 projects and avoid duplications,
  • to identify gaps in the overall programme,
  • to inform the members about the ongoing activities in P&T and ADS outside the EU (Intern. Org., USA, Japan, Korea, former CIS)
  • to give input to future research proposals and guidelines for further R&D orientation

  • 13.03.2002 all day: PARTITION cluster meeting for partners of PARTNEW, CALIXPART, PYROREP and ADOPT and Vitaly Kalchenko from Kiev (project ISTC # 2068 - STCU Rus-09).
  • 14.03.2002 all day: ADOPT meeting for the ADOPT partners and Charles Madic (Reporting on PARTITION Cluster)
  • 15.03.2002 morning: Visit for the ADOPT members to the ITU facilities (optional)

    Partiticipation of the ADOPT members is recommended on 13.03.2002 and mandatory on 14.03.2002
